AFRICA/CHAD - Rector of the Interdiocesan Major Seminary “S. Mbaga Tuzindé” in Sarh appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on May 28, 2010, appointed Fr. François Mbaitoubam Alngar, of the clergy of the Diocese of Gore (Chad), as Rector of the Interdiocesan Major Seminary “S. Mbaga Tuzindé” in the Diocese of Sarh (Chad).
The new Rector was born December 12, 1967 in Bedia (Chad). After primary and secondary studies in 1989, he entered the Major Seminary of “Saint Luc” in N'Djamena for the preparatory year, followed by studies of philosophy and theology, with one year (1994) of pastoral internship in Lai. He was ordained a priest in Doba, on May 25, 1996. After ordination, he served as Rector of the Seminary of “St. Augustin” in Bébédjia until 2001. He then studied at the Institut Catholique in Paris to earn a Licentiate in Philosophy (2003). Back in Chad, in the years 2003-05, he was pastor of the parishes of Boro and Baikoro. Since 2006, he has served as Vicar General of the Diocese of Gore and pastor of the parish of Donia. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 17/11/2010)
