EUROPE/SCANDINAVIAN COUNTRIES - National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 18 February 2010 appointed Deacon Kaare Nielsen of the Diocese of Kobenhavn, National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies in Scandinavia for five years (2010-2015).
The new National Director was born June 2, 1963 in Abendra (Denmark). After his primary school and technical school, he married in 1992. He then studied dogmatic theology in Munster (Germany) from 1994 to 1997. He was ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of Copenhagen in 1997. Among the different positions he has held are the following: pastoral assistant at Herning and Silkeborg, judge of the ecclesiastical court, collaborator in evangelization of New Age environments, head of the office of Missio Denmark, and head of the office for New Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Copenhagen.
