AFRICA/UGANDA - Bishop of Jinja resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy Father Benedict XVI, on March 2, 2010, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Jinja (Uganda) presented by Bishop Joseph B. Willigers, M.H.M, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father appointed as Bishop of Jinja (Uganda), Bishop Charles Martin Wamika, until now Titular Bishop of Tacape and Auxiliary Bishop of Tororo (Uganda). (SL) (Agenzia Fides 2/03/2010)
