AFRICA/NIGERIA - Coadjutor of Ondo appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy Father Benedict XVI, on February 15, 2010, appointed as Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Ondo (Nigeria), Fr. Jude Arogundade, of the clergy of Ondo, currently carrying out his pastoral ministry in the United States of America.
The Fr. Jude Arogundade was born June 2, 1961, in Oka-Akok, Ondo State. After attending primary and secondary school in Imoga and Osos (1966/1978), he entered the Seminary of St. John in Ekom in 1981, for the year of spirituality, then the Major Seminary of St. Peter and Paul in Ibadan (1982/1989). He was ordained priest on September 8, 1990 for the Diocese of Ondo. After ordination, he held the following positions: 1990/1992: parochial vicar of St. Patrick's Church, Ondo, 1992/1996: Pastor St. Patrick's Church, Ile-Oluji, 1996/1997: Pastor of St. George's Church, Ondo, 1998/2006: parochial vicar of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Elmsford, New York (USA), since 2006: Administrator in the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Elmsford, New York (United States of America).
