AMERICA/VENEZUELA - Sunday, October 25, in Caracas, “7th Youth Missionary March” sponsored by the Consolata Missionaries

Saturday, 24 October 2009

Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - “We are in the missionary month of October, and after having celebrated World Missions Sunday with the theme 'Spreading the Word of God,' we renew our invitation to the local Churches to embrace the mission of evangelization. We, as Consolata Missionaries, along with the Lay Missionaries of the Consolata, are prepared for our 7th Youth Missionary March, which this year will bear the theme: 'Young Disciple, Live in Communion with Creation.' This is what Agenzia Fides has learned from Consolata Missionary Fr. Claudio Moratelli, who announced that the event will take place on Sunday, October 25, at 7, in La Pastora (north of Caracas).
“Today, our society needs people that listen to God's voice calling them constantly to follow Him,” says Fr. Moratelli. The first experience of the disciple consists in the call that Jesus makes to him. We, as missionaries, hope that this March may be an authentic occasion for the Church in Venezuela to become aware of their Baptism and become authentic disciples and missionaries of Jesus, with missionary spirit,” according to what is asked of us in the Final Document of Aparecida. This year, the youth will be called to reflect especially on ecology, “which is important for the future of our society,” the missionary concluded. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 24/10/2009)
