Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) – All the Catholic communities of Taiwan are working “to walk in His Light,” following the guidelines given by the Holy Father Benedict XVI in the Message for World Missions Day 2009, entitled “The nations will walk in its light" (Rev 21:24). The Office of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Taiwan has organized a seminar on the missions, presenting “prayer as the most efficient instrument in evangelization, as it intensifies are relationship with the Lord.” The PMS Office of Taiwan has also invited the faithful to participate in the Prayer for the Continents, which will take place on October 15, in Holy Family Parish, presided by the Archbishop of Taipei and including a Mass, meditation, and procession.
The seminar was held on October 6, led by Fr. Felice Chech, MI, Director of the PMS in Taiwan. Fr. Chen Ke, Secretary General of the Regional Bishops' Conference of Taiwan, read Pope Benedict XVI's Message for World Missions Day 2009 to those present. Xaverian missionary from Congo, Fr. Pau Batairwa, SX, shared his missionary experience in Taiwan. A local vocation, Fr. Zhang Ri Liang, SVD, spoke of his mission in Latin America. Ms. Sandra Compagnoni of Chile presented her family of 4, as a missionary family sent to Taiwan. They were from diverse ethnicities, diverse nationalities...but all gave witness to the fact that they are united in the same objective: evangelization. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 07/10/2009)
