Lima (Agenzia Fides) – On the occasion of the “Day of the Journalist” (October 1), Archbishop Héctor Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte, OFM of Trujillo, President of the Peruvian Bishops' Conference, greeted “all journalists, men and women, working in this important task throughout Peru.” On the occasion, the Archbishop invited those working in communications to “continue in the noble and delicate task of presenting information with fidelity to the truth and offering an opinion to citizens with respect and objectivity.” At the same time, the President of the Bishops Conference, in imparting God's Blessing to his readers, asked them to pray so that “journalism contribute to maintaining a peaceful coexistence among people, families, and communities, promoting the dignity of the human person and the common good.” (GT) (2/10/2009)
