EUROPE/SPAIN - Priests and catechists of Granada meet to reflect on “Vocation and Catechesis,” in this Year for Priests

Granada (Agenzia Fides) - “Vocation and catechesis” is the theme of the 9th Interdiocesan Encounter of priests and catechists of the Archdiocese of Granada, scheduled to begin today, September 25 and last until September 27. As a statement sent to Agenzia Fides informs, the workshops will be held at the “San Cecilio” Major Seminary, beginning at 7pm, with a moment of prayer. This will be followed by an address from Archbishop Francisco Javier Martinez Fernandez of Granada, on the theme of the Year for Priests, which will be the main focus of the Encounter.
Among the speakers will be the Catechetical Representative for Granada, Fr. Juan Carlos Navarro, who will speak on “Catechesis as a vocational proposal”; the Catechetical Representative for Cartagena, Fr. Miguel Angel Gil, who will speak on “Catechesis and the universal call to holiness”; the Vice-Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Granada, Sr. Teresa Rodriguez, will present the “Three Christian vocations.” On September 26, there will be Eucharistic Adoration and celebration of Vespers, and the encounter will conclude on September 27, with a talk on “The catechist, vocational companion,” given by Sub-Representative for Catechesis in Cartagena, Fr. Jose Antonio Rodriguez, along with a presentation of the new edition of the First Stage of the Catechetical Itinerary, by Bishop Anton Martinez Riquelme of Cartagena.
