AFRICA/IVORY COAST - Rector of the “Saint Pierre” Interdiocesan Philosophical Seminary in the Diocese of Daloa

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on August 24, 2009, appointed Fr. Kacou Louis Bazare, of the Archdiocese of Gagnoa, as Rector of the “Saint Pierre” Interdiocesan Philosophical Seminary in the Diocese of Daloa (Ivory Coast).
The new Rector was born October 1958 in Dekadougou and was ordained a priest on August 18, 1985 in Divo. He attended the school at the Catholic mission in Divo (1965-1970); the St. Dominique Savio Minor Seminary of Gagnoa (1971-76); the St. Joseph Mukasa Seminary of Yopougon (1976-77); the Bouafle School (1977-1979); the Saint Coeur de Marie Major Seminary in Anyama (1979-85); The University of Navarra (1993-96); the Catholique Institut of Paris (1996-98). He earned a License in Biblical Theology from the University of Navarra (1995) and another degree in 1996. He has ministered as follows: Professor and Superior at the St. Dominique Savio Minor Seminary of Gagnoa; Director of Studies and Professor at St. Pierre Major Seminary. National Chaplain of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Ivory Coast; Secretary of the Justice and Peace Bishops' Commission; member of the Bishops' Justice and Peace Office, in charge of formation.
