AFRICA/KENYA - Symposium on Saint Paul at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa

Eldoret (Agenzia Fides) - The Kenya-based Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) has organized a one-day symposium to celebrate the Year of the Apostle Paul which was declared last year by Pope Benedict XVI. The symposium will be held on Monday, April 27, at the university's AMECEA Gaba Campus in Eldoret.
According to information from the CISA agency, Bishop Cornelius Korir of Eldoret will deliver the keynote address. Rev. Prof. C. Majawa, Dean of Faculty of Theology at CUEA will give a talk on “St. Paul a Model of Reconciliation and Conflict Management,” while Rev. Fr. Faustine Kamugisha will talk on “St. Paul and the Pastoral Ministry of the Church in Modern Times.” Rev. Dr. Fredrick Nvumbi, head of Religious Studies at CUEA, will make a presentation on “St. Paul the Pro-type of Inter-religious Dialogue.” The secretary general of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences of Eastern Africa (AMECEA), Rev. Dr. Pius Rutechura, will speak on “The Family as the Cradle of the Church in the Writings of St. Paul.” (SL) (Agenzia Fides 23/4/2009)
