AMERICA/CHILE - Continental Mission on the Internet: videos for promoting this time of grace and a guide for the Continental Mission in Chile

Santiago de Chile (Agenzia Fides) – With dynamic resources for evangelizers, the Church in Chile has updated their special website for the Continental Mission. It is a missionary spirit in the Church of Latin America and the Caribbean that has led us all to place ourselves in a 'permanent state of mission.' Using the method of Jesus, we are called to 'go out' instead of waiting for others to come. The Mission implies a personal, pastoral, and ecclesial conversion. This takes place in dialogue with the world in which we live. No one is merely part of the audience, we are all actors on this stage. The subject is the missionary disciple. The content is one and the same: the encounter the we have had with the Lord and that, in an overflow of gratitude and joy, urges us to share this treasure with others.
Among the main new additions is the text “The Continental Mission in Chile,” a didactic synthesis of how the missionary spirit can be lived and how to place the Pastoral Guidelines 2008-2012 of the Church in Chile into practice. This document is available in various formats, as well as the original text of the CELAM (Latin American Bishops' Council). There are also videos on the Continental Mission., including the video entitled “The Continental Mission,” which shows what the Continental Mission is, its purpose, how to participate in the dioceses, parishes, and communities. There is also the video: “The Gospel of Aparecida,” a catechesis inspired by the Missionary Triptych of Aparecida that the Holy Father Benedict XVI presented to the 5th Conference. Both are productions of the CELAM Press Office. (RG) (Agenzia Fides 15/4/2009)
