Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) – The Formation Training Camp organized October 25-26 in Hong Kong, for youth group leaders had two main goals: to respond to the Lord's call and to promote evangelization in the university world. According to a report from the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), about 60 youth ministers working with university students, from 11 different institutions, came to participate in the Camp, which was organized by the Youth Pastoral Commission of the Diocese of Hong Kong.
On the first day, they reflected on the main points of evangelization: everything from knowing the faith to spirituality, caring for others...During the workshop held the following day, was given by the guides, who have already done the Camp and who could give advice on practical organization: how to organize an encounter, how to lead prayer, how to plan a missionary activity...Lastly, spiritual director Fr. Paul Kam Po Wai shared his experience as a missionary in Africa, in his homily at the closing Mass. He also assigned them the task of preparing an event for evangelization.
Every year, the Youth Pastoral Commission of Hong Kong organizes a Camp of this kind. This year, however, there will be two. The next one will be held November 22-23, in which 12 schools and universities will participate. (NZ) (Agencia Fides 13/10/2008)
