AFRICA/MADAGASCAR - Rector of the Interdiocesan Theological Seminary of the Archdiocese of Antsiranana appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 17 July 2008 appointed Father Honoré Boudi, of the Archdiocese of Antsiranana, as Rector of the Interdiocesan Theological Seminary of the Archdiocese of Antsiranana (Madagascar).
The new Rector was born December 1, 1968 in Fénérive-Est (Madagascar). Following his primary, secondary school studies, and military service, he studied philosophy (1989-1992) at the Major Seminary in Antsiranana and theology at the Major Seminary in Ambatoroka. From 1992-1994, he served in Fénérive-Est, at the Parish of St. Maurice. He was ordained a priest on September 7, 1997 in Fénérive-Est. He has since ministered as follows: parish vicar and teacher at Fénérive-Est (1997-1998); teacher at St. Jean Seminary in Antsiranana (1998-1999); Rector of St. Jean Seminary and other pastoral services (1999-2003); Moral Theology studies in Rome at the Alfonsiana Academy, earning a Licentiate (2003-2006); since 2007, parish pastor in Antalaha.
