VATICAN - Pope Benedict XVI’s pastoral visit to Cagliari on Sunday, September 7

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – This Sunday, September 7, the Holy Father Benedict XVI will make a pastoral visit to Cagliari. According to the itinerary for the visit, issued by the Holy See Press Office, the Pope will leave from Ciampino Airport in Rome at 8:30am, arriving in Cagliari at 9:30. He is scheduled to visit the Shrine of “Nostra Signora di Bonaria” at 10am, presiding a Mass at 10:30 and Angelus following. Afterwards, the Pope will visit the Chapel of the Cagliari Regional Seminary. In the afternoon, at 4:30pm, after greeting members of the organizational committee of the visit in the Diocesan Seminary, the Holy Father will meet with the priests, seminarians, and members of the community of the Pontifical Theological Academy of Sardinia in the Cagliari Cathedral. At 6:15pm, he is scheduled to hold a youth encounter in Yenne Square (Cagliari). At 7:30pm, he will leave from Cagliari-Elmas Airport, arriving one hour later in Rome-Ciampino Airport. (S.L.)
