Wednesday, 16 July 2008

Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - “Three missionary journeys and his martyrdom in Rome remind us of the importance of carrying on the mission of evangelization, imitating the Patron of our parish, and this is even more important in the Year of St. Paul.” This was what Msgr. J.B. Tsng Hing Mun of Southwest Kowloon told the faithful present at the inauguration of the new mosaic depicting the Conversion of St. Paul, located in the Parish of St. Paul in Hong Kong. According to a report from Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), over 800 parishioners and faithful participated in the Mass on the occasion, which was concelebrated by about twenty priests. In the homily, Msgr. Tsng spoke of the life of St. Paul, with continuous reference to the new mosaic that shows the persecution of the Christians, the encounter with the Lord, the conversion, and the mission of the Apostle to the Gentiles. He also encouraged the faithful to join in the formation course on St. Paul, for a deeper knowledge of his spirituality and in order to practice in their own life what the Holy Apostle inspires.
