Wednesday, 18 June 2008

Kao Hsiung (Agenzia Fides) – The inauguration of the Pauline Year will be characterized by indigenous elements in paying homage to the Apostle of the Gentiles, the great missionary: Saint Paul. According to a report from Christian Life Weekly, the weekly bulletin for the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, the Diocese of Kao Hsiung is intensifying its preparations as the inauguration of the Pauline Year approaches. Over 20 priests and lay faithful have taken part in the preparatory meeting recently held by the Diocese at Saint Paul’s Parish. In the meeting, the program was drafted for the inauguration of the Pauline Year, beginning with a symbolic pilgrimage following St. Paul’s missionary route, organized by the Biblical Association. The pilgrimage will end at St. Paul’s Parish, where a Mass for the opening of the Year will be held. The youth will play an important role in the celebration, with song and dance typical of the indigenous traditions. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 18/6/2008)
