ASIA/HONG KONG - Diocese of Hong Kong prepares for the solemn inauguration of the Pauline Year

Monday, 16 June 2008

Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) – Personal spirituality, life of the Church, and the mission ad gentes: these were the three main themes indicated by the Diocese of Hong Kong in celebrating the Pauline Year. According to a report from the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), the diocese will inaugurate the Pauline Year, in communion with the Universal Church, on June 29, during a Mass at the Cathedral. The Diocese has also formed a Pauline Year Head Group,” which is led by Monsignor Dominic Chan, Diocesan Vicar. In addition to formation courses, there has also been a pilgrimage planned, on Paul’s journeys and to visit the parishes dedicated to him within the Diocese. A translation has been made of his life and spirituality, for use in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The Vicar has stated that there is no conflict between the Pauline Year declared by the Universal Church and the Diocesan Year of the Family, because Saint Paul himself placed great attention on the subject of the family.
