ASIA/TAIWAN - “Theotokos, Mother of God”: a CD for the 150th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions at Lourdes - recorded by Cardinal Shan and Fr. Chang, both suffering severe illnesses

Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Paul Shan, Bishop emeritus of Kaohsiung, who has been suffering for some time from a lung tumor, and Fr. Petrus Chang, CDD (Congregatio Discipulorum Domini), who suffers from an irreversible brain tumor, have recorded a CD in honor of the 150th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions at Lourdes, entitled “Theotokos, Mother of God.” According to Christian Life Weekly, the weekly bulletin of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, the CD is 2-hours’ long and was released on May 13, feast of Our Lady of Fatima. It hopes to be a sign of devotion and gratitude to the Virgin Mary, on behalf of the Cardinal and the priest, along with over 200 faithful and religious sisters, in conjunction with the Parish of Saint Paul. The CD offers a collection of 10 hymns in honor of the Virgin Mary, such as Regina Caeli, Ave Regina Coelorum, Alma Redemptoris Mater, Queen Enthroned Above, Immaculate Mary, Hail, Queen of Heaven…. It is also an effective instrument in pastoral ministry and for spiritual growth, both personal and as a community. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 13/6/2008)
