AMERICA/NICARAGUA - National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 28 March 2008, appointed Father Rodolfo French Naar, of the clergy of the Apostolic Vicariate of Bluefields, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Nicaragua for a five year term (2008-2013).
The new National Director was born in San Carlos Rio Coco. After having completed studies in Philosophy and Theology at “Nuestra Señora de Fatima” Major Seminary in Managua, he was ordained a priest on December 28, 1995 for the Apostolic Vicariate of Bluefields. He obtained a Licentiate in Missiology, specializing in Evangelization and Pastoral Ministry, at the Pontifical University Urbaniana (2000-2003). He served as Rector of the diocesan Minor Seminary “San Pio X” from 1998-2003. He is currently serving as Pastor of the Parish of San Pedro, Puerto Cabeza, located in the Apostolic Vicariate of Bluefields. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 24/4/2008; righe 12, parole 145)
