AMERICA/BRAZIL - Cecilianos Monks in Caçapava do Sul: the intellectual Pope is patrimony of universal culture

Friday, 18 January 2008

Caçapava do Sul (Agenzia Fides) - “We express our closeness to the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI following the deplorable episode at La Sapienza University in Rome”, we read in a statement sent to Fides by Fr. Marcos di Santa Melena, OSC, Prior of the Community of Cecilianos Monks at Caçapava do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. “The episode was isolated but it revealed the existence of a world working against peace. The Pope head of the Church is one thing, the Pope statesman is another. But the Pope intellectual is patrimony of universal culture. Therefore the Cecilianos Monks express their solidarity to the Holy Father and pray for his intentions. Long live the successor of Peter! Long live our Pope and Father!” (RG) (Agenzia Fides 18/1/2008; righe 9, parole 141)
