Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Italian version of Pope Benedict XVI's new Encyclical XVI “Spe salvi” (Saved by Hope), to be made public at the Holy See Press Office on Friday 30 November, will be included with the December 9th issue of the Catholic weekly “Famiglia Cristiana” . “The Pope - says Famiglia Cristiana - has marked the route: renew love, hunt for the ultimate answer to man's questions and rediscover the faith. This is the programme he has followed faithfully with energy and dynamism in these two and a half years of pontificate”.
- How many old mobiles lie in drawers unused, forgotten in our homes? Why not put them to use again for development and cooperation programmes. MAGIS, a Jesuit NGO of the Italian Province, is collecting and recycling mobile phones to raise funds. The phones are sent to London where they will be prepared for reuse in developing countries or recycled according to the European environmental directive. All money raised goes to MAGIS projects, for example, solar energy kitchens in Chad and in support of a hospital for children with AIDS in Kenya. (C.E.)
