EUROPE/ITALY - School support programmes in El Salvador and India to help a total 1,200 children

Roma (Agenzia Fides) - Two countries and two different programmes to guarantee children the right to education: on the occasion of Universal Children's Day, Intervita international organisation builds solar energy plants and supports education programme in India.
In some parts of El Salvador a lack of electricity hampers economic and social development. Intervita intends to build solar energy plants to supply schools with electricity making access to education easier for over 700 children.
In India Intervita proposes an education programme in the city of Pune, in one of the poorest parts of India, where over 120 million children are denied even primary education, This programme will provide psychologists and nutrition experts and clothing and food to 500 pupils which attend the school.
