Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - Once again this year the Family and Childhood Commission of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Venezuelan has organised a nation-wide Family Embrace campaign during Family Week from 4 to 11 November. The theme for this 17th edition is: "Respect, central for family harmony". "We intend to help families understand better the identity of the family, - the organisers explain - where the human person has the right to life, to grow and develop and be educated, to learn to live in a community which is open to society". Respect is indispensable for family harmony - the organisers underline, “because it is the basis of co-existence in the family and in society."
Bishop Ramón Linares Sandoval, president of the Family and Childhood Commission said in a presentation of the Campaign "the values of love, respect and tolerance are indispensable for education to harmony and freedom. No other place is a suitable as the family for handing on the value of the greatness and dignity of every human person and, consequently respect for his or her integrity, intimacy and expressions."
Campaign material prepared by the Bishops' Family and Childhood Commission includes a poster, a programme, hand book, CD and a Manual for children. The material offers five themes for workshops or reflection. Each theme has a biblical reference, a liturgical guide and suggestions for celebration.
