Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - “Towards the spirit of the Saint” was the theme of celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of St Therese of Lisieux parish in the diocese of Hong Kong. According to Hong Kong Catholic bulletin Kong Ko Bao about ten priests concelebrated at a special Mass to with the consecration of a new tabernacle in the presence of numerous parishioners. Before the beginning of October which opens with the feast of the patron saint of the missions, the parish organised various initiatives to live and practice mission.
During a spectacle “ Learning from St Therese how to walk the way to Christ ”, priests, religious and lay people listened to the life of the Saint proposed in song, dance, drama and film. In preparation for 75th anniversary celebrations, since January on every first Sunday of the month before mass a member of the congregation presented a brief history of the life of St Therese and her mission. Another initiative was the publication of a book containing some famous phrases of St Therese of Lisieux. Celebrations for the 75th anniversary will close on 15 December with a Mass in Latin at 6pm.
