ASIA/THAILAND - New Rector for Lux Mundi National Major Seminary in Bangkok appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 25 July 2007, appointed Rev. Philip Adisak Phornngam, of the diocesan clergy of Chanthaburi, Rector of Lux Mundi National Major Seminary in Bangkok.
The new Rector was born on 19 November 1954. After primary school he frequented Sacred Heart of Jesus Minor Seminary (1965/73), Holy Family intermediate Seminary (1978/1979), Lux Mundi major seminary (1979/1986). He was ordained a priest on 13 September 1986. He has a (BA in philosophy and theology from Saengtham College, and a Master Degree in theology from the Pontifical Angelicum University in Rome. He took courses of ongoing formation. He has held various positions in the field of teaching and education in schools and seminaries; including bursar, formator and vice rector of Lux Mundi Seminary.
