Roma (Agenzia Fides) - “If the world of today travels via the web, mission will carry the Word along the same way”. With these words on March 15 the Comboni Missionary Sisters announced the inauguration of the Congregation's web site in Italian. Four months later they now announce the English edition. The Sisters eventually hope to add French Portuguese and Spanish so as to offer a total five language editions. The English edition is the first step towards broader cultural and linguistic horizons, and to offering many more people the opportunity to encounter the Comboni Sisters missionary world and the stories of missionaries, women of the Gospel who strive every day to build bridges of dialogue, reconciliation and hope.
Besides giving information on the congregation of Sisters founded by Saint Daniele Comboni, the web site aims to be a window on the peoples with whom the Comboni Missionary Sisters share daily life, difficulties, dreams and hopes. The web site introduces those peoples, the stories of their joys and woes, and their hopes, often ignored and even purposely, by the international media.
