Beijing (Agenzia Fides) - The recent Papal Letter addressed by Pope Benedict XVI to the bishops, priests consecrated persons and lay Catholics of the Catholic Church in the Peoples Republic of China continues to be received with enthusiasm all over China, local sources told Fides. Catholics have mobilised to spread the letter. The more fortunate have received 3 or even 4 copies from different sources. Some priests gave a presentation of the Letter at the end of Mass to help the less educated understand the Pope's message and intentions. Young Catholics are particularly enthusiastic about the Papal Letter. One young person told Fides “the Letter clearly indicates the path and we have been waiting for this. Now there is no excuse, the password is unity and communion with the one universal Church. We wish to thank the Pope, the Vicar of Christ on earth and to say to him: "dear Pope we are with you and we will follow the path to unity which you have indicated”.
