EUROPE/SPAIN - INTENSIVE MISSIONARY FORMATION COURSE: BOOST SPANISH CHURCH’S MISSIONARY COMMITMENT WITH BETTER PREPARATION OF PASTORAL WORKERS

Madrid (Fides Service) – Provide all the missionary forces of the Church in Spain with the opportunity for missionary reflection and formation is the objective of an Intensive Course in Missionary Formation promoted by the national School of Missionary Formation. The school, sponsored by the Spanish Bishops’ Mission Commission and the Conference of Religious in Spain, is open to anyone interested in mission ad gentes.
The course which ends on 18 December consists of five sections: “the situation”, offering a series of keys for a Christian interpretation of the situation; “the religious aspect” : anthropology, theology and the history of religions and new movements; “Mission” : theology of mission, mission in the Bible and in Church Teaching, history of evangelisation, missionary spirituality and various themes connected with mission with justice, human promotion, inculturation, ecumenism and interreligious dialogue; “fields and agents of mission”: the missionary regions of Africa, Latin America and Asia, human, sociali e cultural aspects of mission and agents of mission; “workshops”: animation, media, methods of community participation, elaboration of mission projects. The course also includes special conferences on “lay spirituality” and “preventive medicine”. Director and co-ordinator of the Course, held at the St Pius X, Institute, is Father José Casas a member of IEME, St Francis Xavier Spanish Institute for Foreign Missions.
