Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father, Leo XIV, has appointed Rev. Fr. Vicent Ouma Odundo, currently Vicar General of the same Archdiocese, as Auxiliary Bishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kisumu, assigning him the titular See of Giru di Marcello.
Vicent Ouma Odundo was born on June 1, 1978, in Kisumu. He studied Philosophy at the Mabanga National Seminary and Theology at St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary in Nairobi.
He was ordained a priest on February 20, 2008.
He has held the following positions and completed further studies: Parish Vicar at St. Theresa's Cathedral in Kisumu (2008–2009); Administrator of St. Augustine Parish in Nyamonye (2009-2012); Parish Priest of the Holy Cross in Siaya (2012-2013); Licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome; Doctorate from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome; Administrator of St. Andrew's Parish in Bondo (2018-2019); Promoter of Justice at the Interdiocesan Tribunal of Kisumu (2018-2020); Chancellor and Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese (2019-2023); until his appointment, Vicar General of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kisumu.
