Bamako (Agenzia Fides) - The members of the Italian family, consisting of Giovanni and Rocco and Donatella Langone, who were kidnapped in Mali on May 19, 2022, are doing well. "They are expected in Rome at the Foreign Ministry by their other son Daniele," reports Father Pier Luigi Maccalli, who spoke with him on the phone.

Giovanni had his own business in Mali for several years, and his parents had joined him when they retired in Italy. The family lived on the outskirts of the town of Koutiala, southeast of Mali's capital Bamako, the same town where Sister Gloria Cecilia Narváez, the Colombian missionary of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate, was kidnapped on February 7, 2017 and released on October 9, 2021.
