Abuja ( Fides News Agency) - Three nuns and a seminarian were kidnapped along with their driver in Imo State, southern Nigeria.
According to a memo from their congregation, the nuns belong to the Missionary Daughters of Mater Ecclesiae, a religious institute in the diocese of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, while the seminarian belongs to the Missionary Sons of the Most Holy Trinity.
The five were captured Oct. 5 along the road to Mbano on their way to the funeral of the mother of one of the nuns.
When reached via telephone by Fides Agency, the Missionary Daughters of Mater Ecclesiae said they currently have no further information about their sisters and the other abducted people. (LM) (Fides News Agency 09/10/2023)
