VATICAN - “Vita consecrata: Duc in altum!” Celebrating 10th anniversary of Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Vita Consecrata

Vatican City (Fides Service) - On Saturday 20 May 2006, the Pontifical College Regina Apostolorum in Rome will host a conference on "Vita consecrata: Duc in altum!", organised by the College together with the Legionaries of Christ and the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
The objective is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the post-synodal apostolic exhortation Vita Consecrata analysing its fundamental contents and ensuing reflection so desired by Pope John Paul II.
The Conference will open with an address by the rector of Regina Apostolorum College, Fr. Paolo Scarafoni. Then the secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life Bishop Piergiorgio Silvano Nesti will give a conference on the theme “Expectations and hopes. What did we expect of the Synod and the Apostolic Exhortation Vita Consecrata?”.
In the afternoon there will be panel discussions on two different themes “How to give new impulse to Consecrated Life?” and “Facing emerging challenges in a spiritual and apostolic manner.
