Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On November 1, 2022, the Holy Father Francis, appointed Rev. Joseph Bui Cong Trac, of the clergy of Ho Chi Minh Ville, currently Rector of the Major Seminary of Hô Chí Minh Ville, as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Thành-Phô-Hô Chí Minh, Hochiminh Ville (Viêt Nam), assigning him the titular See of Arsennaria.
His Exc. Msgr. Joseph Bui Cong Trac, was born on May 25, 1965 in Saigon. He attended the Major Seminary of Hô Chí Minh Ville and was ordained a priest on June 30, 1999 for the same archdiocese. From 1999 to 2003 he was parish vicar of Thu Thiem, in the Archdiocese of Hô Chí Minh Ville. In 2010 he obtained a Doctorate in Social Doctrine of the Church at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
He subsequently held the following positions: Vice-Rector of the Pontifical College of Saint Paul in Rome (2010-2016); since 2016, Rector of the Major Seminary of Hô Chí Minh Ville. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 3/11/2022)
