Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On March 18, 2020 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr Michel Moura, of the diocesan clergy of Port Louis as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the Indian Ocean, for a five-year period (2020 -2025).
The new National Director was born on September 28, 1962 on the island of Mauritius and was ordained a priest on August 6, 2006. After graduating in management at the University of Mauritius, he attended the seminar at the Ile de la Réunion and Nantes, France. After ordination he was vice-parish priest and parish priest in different communities. Since 2018 he has been parish priest of the Holy Spirit parish in Bel Air. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 7/7/2020)
