ASIA/INDONESIA - Appointment of the Bishop of Tanjung Selor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Today the Holy Father appointed the Rev. Fr. Paulinus Yan Olla, M.S.F., currently Rector of the Theological Studentate M.S.F. in Malang as Bishop of the diocese of Tanjung Selor (Indonesia).
The Rev. Fr. Paulinus Yan Olla, M.S.F., was born on 22 June 1963 in Seom-Eban, Diocese of Atambua (Western Timor). He entered the Minor Seminary in Laian (Atambua) and later, in the Major Seminary in Yogyakarta. He completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Weda Bhakti Pontifical Faculty in Yogyakarta. He was ordained a priest on August 28, 1992.
He then held the following positions: 1992-1994: Parish Vicar of the Holy Family Parish in Banteng (Semarang); 1993-2005: Coordinator of the Commission for the Family of the Archdiocese of Samarinda (Kalimantan); 1995-1997: Rector of the Don Bosco Minor Seminary in Samarinda; 1997-2000: Parish priest of the Buna Maria Parish in Banjarbaru, Diocese of Banjarmasin (Kalimantan); Director of the MSF Postulancy in Banjarbaru; 2000-2004: Studies for the Degree in Spiritual Theology at the Theresianum in Rome; 2001-2007: MSF General Assistant in Rome; 2007-2013: MSF General Secretary in Rome; since 2013: Rector of the MSF Theological Studentate in Malang; since 2014: Coordinator of the Commission for the Family of the Diocese of Malang; since 2014: Professor of Spiritual Theology at the Philosophical and Theological Higher Institute Widya Sasana in Malang.
