ASIA/TAIWAN - Over 160 pastoral workers and volunteers take part in 38th Seminar on Pastoral Care for Prison Inmates

Taipei (Fides Service) - Over 160 pastoral workers and volunteers members of the Catholic Association for Pastoral Care for Prisoners from all 7 of Taiwan’s Catholic dioceses took part in a recent 38 Seminar on Prison Pastoral Care.
According to Taipei archdiocese Christian Life Weekly the Archbishop of Taipei Joseph Cheng thanked everyone present for their excellent work and encouraged the volunteers to persevere in their generous and important service.
The participants reviewed the activity and administration of the Association and discussed special pastoral care for prisoners with AIDS. In his homily the general co-ordinator of the Association rev. John Hung, said: “Every person, even those who have made mistakes, is in search of the truth and happiness. Our task is to bring the Good News of the God of Love to prisoners, atheists, the sick and the excluded”.
