ASIA/HONG KONG - Message from Bishop Zen after participation in the Synod on the Eucharist: may the family put the Eucharist at the centre of life

Hong Kong (Fides Service) - On his return from Rome where he took part in the Synod of Bishops on the Eucharist, Source and Summit of the Church’s Life and Mission Bishop Joseph Zen Catholic Bishop of Hong Kong shared his experience with the faithful and said “the Christian family must put the Eucharist at the centre of life. The Church should highlight the dimension of the family during the celebration of Mass ”.
According to the diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao at least 500 people gathered at Immaculate Conception Cathedral to listen to the Bishop’s report in which he urged Catholics to love the Eucharist: “The Church underlined the family dimension in the celebration of the Eucharist to unite the family in the Body of Christ and help families draw strength in the Eucharist”. Bishop Zen spoke about the mystery of the Eucharist and the concrete problems encountered in pastoral work. A Sister from Hong Kong admitted as an observer at the assembly illustrated briefly the Synod’s final message.
