ASIA/CINA - Catholic web sites blacked-out after reporting news of attack on nuns in Xi An now visible but no trace of news in question

Friday, 2 December 2005

Xi An (Fides Service) - Blacked out for several hours on November 30 for reporting breaking news of attacks on ‘helpless women religious in Xi An’ (to quote the Holy See press office), the most popular Chinese Catholic web site “Faith” http://www.chinacatholic.org, run by the Catholic community in He Bei, and several other Catholics web sites which suffered the same plight are once again visible, but of the incidents in Xi An no trace remains. There is growing concern all over the world, and not only among Catholics, for these frequent episodes of violence and lack of information in China. (Agenzia Fides 2/12/2005 Righe: 12 Parole: 105)
