Bogota (Agenzia Fides) - A week of dialogue and exchange of proposals: this is how representatives of the Colombian government and the FARC defined these days when participants at the negotiating table to conclude the final peace agreements met with representatives of the Catholic Church, social organizations and other civil associations. According to a note sent to Fides, the Colombian Bishops, led by the Archbishop of Cali, His Exc. Mgr. Dario Monsalve dealt with fundamental issues such as the family, the rights of women and the gender theory.
According to Radio Caracol, after the meeting with the Bishops a novelty emerged: the Catholic Church could help in the realization of the final peace agreements with two important tasks: its participation in the analysis and the final drafting of the definitive agreements and the task of social reintegration of FARC members.
The Colombian Bishops' Conference has announced an upcoming press conference to inform about the details. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 03/11/2016)
