ASIA/INDIA - Priests and religious in Andhra Pradesh close year of the Eucharist with a Special Retreat

Hyderabad (Fides Service) - About a hundred priests and men and women religious in Hyderabad diocese who took part in a special retreat to reflect on the Year of the Eucharist and identify pastoral priorities, expressed a profound sense of love and gratitude for the Sacrament of the Eucharist and for this special year of celebration.
Bishop Govindu Joji of Nalagonda who led the five day retreat, urged the participants to devote their lives to preaching the Kingdom of God and administering the Sacrament of the Eucharist. “For all of us this special Year has been a time to deepen and strengthen our faith and our gratitude for the mystery and grace of the Sacrament we celebrate”, the Bishop said.
“As a priest I was called to speak on the meaning of the Eucharist and I myself have deepened my knowledge of this infinite mystery”, said Divine Word missionary Fr. Christus Raji,. Looking back of the Year of the Eucharist he said “these have been twelve months of abundant grace and blessings”.
The retreat was an opportunity for participants to share experience and pray in Adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament exposed 24 hours a day.
“The Year of the Eucharist has been very important for our Church, it strengthened the roots of our faith. The Eucharist is broken bread and we are called to break of life to serve the world with prayer and acts of mercy”, said a Brother at the end of the retreat .
