Guadalajara (Fides Service) - “See how he loves you!” is the slogan chosen for the 10th Youth Meeting organised by Charismatic Renewal movement in the archdiocese of Guadalajara on Saturday 23 July and Sunday 24 July at the Benito Juarez Auditorium Guadalajara City, Mexico. The organisers expect between 10,000 and 12,000 young people from Guadalajara and all over Mexico to attend. “The Youth Meeting is open to adults as well” said Bishop José Trinidad González, auxiliary of Guadalajara. He said the aim of the meeting is to help participants draw closer to the Eucharist, to celebrate life and reject the culture of death which attracts young people to follow mirages of happiness which may even lead to death.
The young people will reflect on the following themes: “In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”; “Admitting our sinfulness before God and our brothers and sisters”, “welcoming the Word as Word of God”, “the Eucharistic Liturgy”, “Mission”. The Bishop illustrated the characteristic of these annual meetings: “to favour experience of God who calls his people to bless them, strengthen them and heal them. These are days of profound joy, fruit of the presence of the Holy Spirit expressed in praie, proclamation of the Word through preachers, tools of God calling to conversion. The days include intense adoration of the Jesus present in the Eucharist. He walks among us today touching and healing hearts to grant health of body and spirit. Very often participants decide to change their life which may be sad and meaningless, they go to Confession and experience the highlight of the meeting, the encounter with Christ in the Eucharist”.
