Seoul (Fides Service) - On April 20 the Church in Korea marks national Day for People with a Disability. For the occasion Bishop Lucas Kim Woon-hoe auxiliary of Seoul released a message ha “Love creates perfection”. The aim of the Day is to increase awareness among Catholics of the duty to help those with a disability with human relations and prayer, knowing that Christ is present above all in the suffering. The Day also intends to increase awareness in the civil society to promote laws in favour of the disabled.
In his message the Bishop calls on Catholics to “remove the human barriers which often exist with regard to people with a disability and to practice charity”, putting aside psychological obstacles and fears which beset those not used to approaching people with a disability.
