Bangalore (Fides Service) -Bangalore diocese in the south eastern state of Karnataka has decided to dedicate its diocesan Eucharistic Congress 29 April 1 May to the memory of Pope John Paul II. About 5,000 people mainly from the diocese but also delegates from other dioceses are expected to attend.
“We organised the Congress to reflect on the meaning of the Year of the Eucharist”, a local priests Father Roy, told Fides. “Now it will be an occasion to render honour to the Holy Father and to recall his words of life for the Eucharist and learn to make it the centre of our life. Pope John Paul was a man of the Eucharist because he lived it as the source and summit of his experience of faith and gave himself entirely to the Church and the world”.
