AMERICA/HONDURAS - Campaign of the diocese of San Pedro Sula: "An honest man is not corrupt"

Wednesday, 15 July 2015

San Pedro Sula (Agenzia Fides) - "In this context of outrage over corruption there is the request to denounce it, so that everything is out in the open: the causes, those responsible and the measures that should be taken in order to live honestly in Honduras", said His Exc. Mgr. Angel Garachana Pérez, C.M.F., Bishop of San Pedro Sula, during the presentation of the annual diocesan campaign aimed particularly at children and young people of schools and parishes, and this year's theme will be ‘honesty’.
According to information sent to Fides, the Bishop pointed out, in front of adults and children, the most urgent need of the country at the moment: the Christian witness of living honestly. "An honest man is not corrupt, he is a person of integrity, who tells the truth, who is not guided by lies, who does not become rich at the expense of others, who does not live in unrighteousness" said Mgr. Garachana Pérez.
The Diocese of San Pedro Sula has been pursuing the "Infantile Campaign" for 37 years and aims at involving families in the construction of a society based on Gospel values. Addressed to families, schools and groups of every parish, children are the protagonists of the Campaign. The 2015 Campaign began on Sunday 12 July and will conclude at the end of August. The slogan of the campaign is: "You can reflect honesty in the world". (CE) (Agenzia Fides 15/07/2015)
