Monday, 22 June 2015

Bujumbura (Agenzia Fides) - "Even today there are demonstrations against the third term of President Pierre Nkurunziza in some neighborhoods in Bujumbura" say local sources from the capital of Burundi to Agenzia Fides. "The population, however, has a lot of fear. Fear is widespread. In the night between 19 and 20 June, the police shot in different districts of Bujumbura, terrorizing residents", add our sources. In the night between 21 and 22 June, in Ngozi, four people died and 25 were injured in an attack with a grenade in a public place.
Legislative elections are scheduled on June 29. "The only ones who carry out election campaigns are parties close to the President, the opposition refrains due to the widespread climate of terror in the Country" conclude our sources. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 22/06/2015)
