AMERICA/BRAZIL - Theme chosen for Missionary Campaign 2015 in Brazil: "Mission is to serve"

Tuesday, 28 April 2015

Brasilia (Agenzia Fides) - "Mission is to serve" is the theme chosen by the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) for Missionary Campaign 2015, which will take place in October in all the dioceses of Brazil. Reflection for the missionary month, celebrated throughout the Church, follows the proposal of this year’s Fraternity Campaign ("Fraternity: Church and Society. I have come to serve" Mark 10:45). The slogan of Missionary Campaign 2015: "Whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all" (Mark 10:44).
"Serving is one of the words we use in mission. There is no mission if there is no service, because service gives meaning to the mission" explains to Fides the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Brazil, Father Camilo Pauletti. Usually the topic of the Missionary Campaign accompanies that of the Fraternity Campaign, except in years when we celebrate a specific missionary Conference, with its own theme.
The PMS, recalls Fr. Pauletti, have this charisma to look at the missionary dimension as a whole. They want the spirit and mission solidarity to motivate Christians, the baptized and the particular Churches. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 28/04/2015)
