Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 30 July 2014 appointed National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Mexico for a five year term (2014-2019), Rev. José Ayala Madrigal, of the diocese of Coatzacoalcos.
The new national director was ordained a priest on 15 April 1993. He studied philosophy at Tabasco diocesan seminary and theology at the Pontifical University of Mexico and the inter-diocesan seminary of Xalapa. Later he obtained a licentiate in Missiology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. Since his ordination he served as a member of seminary formation staff, parish priest, diocesan director of missions, coordinator of the commission of the clergy. He is presently parish priest at Santa Maria Reina del Rosario parish. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 08/09/2014)
