Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - "Put into practice what you have learned doing the mission of evangelization, to respond to the Year of Faith": is the encouragement that Cardinal John Tong Hon, Bishop of Hong Kong, addressed to newly graduates of the Holy Spirit Seminary of the Diocese. According to reports from the Kung Kao Po, weekly newsletter of the Diocese of Hong Kong, Cardinal Tong presided over the solemn ceremony for the graduation of 50 young students, seminarians and laity, on December 2, in the parish of Christ the King. Twenty-three priests concelebrated the Mass with the diocesan Bishop.
The "Holy Spirit" Seminary has three faculties: theology, philosophy and religious studies. In the academic year 2011-2012 50 students graduated, 18 of the faculty of theology, 13 of the Faculty of Philosophy and 19 of the Faculty of Religious Studies. Of the 50 graduates 10 are seminarians of the Diocese of Hong Kong and of several religious institutes active in the territory, 4 of philosophy and 6 of theology. They will continue their formation for priesthood and the consecrated life. Among the lay graduates who shared their excitement about Kung Kao Po, one said: "four years of formation helped me to clarify Christian identity and deepen my awareness that we are created in the image and likeness of God."
