Lima (Agenzia Fides) - The Catholic Church is willing to cooperate with the government of newly elected President Ollanta Humala in Peru to improve the social inclusion of the poorer population. This is what was said by the former President of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference (PEC), Mgr. Luis Bambaren: "In our field, in the social field, which is what we deal with, full cooperation is expected. "
Mgr. Luis Bambaren said that the message to the nation on behalf of the newly elected president "was very exhaustive", because it handled the issues related to the situation of the poorest, who were involved during the election campaign. "I think (the inclusion) is an important task, very difficult, but this must also be the risk when you try to be close to the forgotten for generations".
During his speech, President Humala said he will dedicate all his energies to "wipe the face of excruciating poverty and social exclusion" in the construction of a Peru for everyone, "always careful towards the most vulnerable of our brothers".
In this regard, Mgr. Bambaren reported that with this message "hope awakens" and, therefore, all Peruvians should work for a good government. "This has nothing to do with political matters, but a real humanitarian sense, to be close to the answers of the most forgotten".
Finally, the prelate stressed that the President also expressed his determination to fight corruption. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 07/29/2011)
