Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - Young people in Hong Kong have long been on the way to World Youth Day in Madrid with the training and preparatory catechism: they have just completed the third stage of this journey, which was held on 16 and 17 July. Now they are waiting to officially receive the mandate on July 31, in the Chapel of Christ the King of St. Paul School. According to information by the Diocesan Youth Pastoral Commission of Hong Kong, gathered by Fides, Hong Kong will be represented by more than 200 young people of the diocese of Hong Kong, who will join 600 other young people from several local youth communities, parishes, religious institutes and Catholic schools, Church movements ... Over 800 young people will represent the youth of Hong Kong, to "establish deep friendship with Christ, and find truth, courage and hope in Him, becoming visible witnesses" together with the youth of the world, together with the Pope.
The Head of the Delegation, don Paul Kam Po Wai, has specifically written to the young people in Hong Kong so that they actively participate in the pilgrimage "which is a call of the Lord, it is an invitation from the Pope". The diocese of Hong Kong has published the song "Walk in Christ, Firm in Faith" and has outlined the five stages of preparatory training: to be rooted in Christ, to build oneself in Christ, strengthen faith, from heart to heart, to be witnesses . According to the program, the delegation will leave Hong Kong on August 5. From August 6 to 10 a spiritual retreat and pilgrimage is expected; from 11 to 15 August the welcome and participation in diocesan activities, from August 16 to 21 the participation in WYD. The return to Hong Kong is expected on 22 August. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 07/19/2011)
